Gossip Girl - The Kids Are Not All Right

So, Gossip Girl. I quite enjoy the show overall, although there are times when I question why I watch it, mainly when I am reluctant to watch an episode (normally when I don't particularly like a plot line).

So anyway, this episode is the first one since Christmas (why do American shows have so many breaks?!), and it wasn't bad. It did all the catch up stuff whilst setting up more ongoing stories and new characters were introduced.

Let me run through each Character/story.

Blair and Dan
It was obvious from the last 5 minutes of the previous episode that the writers are setting these two up to become a couple, they continue with that idea in this episode. If it didn't feel so forced, I think I would like it more. It just feels like they just looked at who was single and thought, hmm, lets put these two together. We haven't done that before. I mean I get the fact that technically they are the most similar in a lot of ways, but I think it should have been more gradual. But then as Chuck and Blair are end game, that can't really happen. I think this storyline is going to cause some conflicts in upcoming episodes mainly with Serena and Chuck. Serena because God forbid someone has a life without her, and Chuck, because well, just because they aren't together, doesn't mean they aren't together. Even though he can still shag anything that moves.

Serena and Dan
I really don't care anymore. Serena needs to stop acting like such a dumbass. Oh I'm sorry I didn't show something came up. HELLO, that is what MOBILE PHONES are for. She couldn't take less than 1 minute to send Dan a text to say, sorry can't make it?? Dan needs to stop being such a loser. Blair was completely right. Grow a pair, stop being so pussy whipped. But seriously, you missed an important interview because you were waiting for Serena who you know to be fucking useless and always leaves you in the lurch? For Fucks Sake. Just stop it. I don't care if they get back together or not. Either way it'll be boring.

Nate
Nate is the memeber of the group that is kept around for spare parts, or at least so it seems. His storyline are nearly always completely sperate to the rest of the groups, or he's just there as a sidekick to make a couple of smart quips to make out he's important. I don't give a flying fuck about his Dad. I think Nate and Chuck need to be seen doing friend things more, we get the whole bromance thing between Nate and Dan, but Chuck is supposed to be his BFF, and I just don't see it. Apart from a few short phonecalls, you don't see them as friends.

Chuck
Will shag anything that moves. It's boring. We get it. Chuck probably has spyhilis. I'm bored of see him with a million different women.

Chuck and Lily
This whole issue with Bass Industries is boring, and dull and I don't care. I wish his work would involve more than just scheming to stay on top. Just run a damn business.

Chuck and Blair
I love Chuck and Blair, but they've been ruining everything about them recently. I get that they had to split them up, because it was just too perfect too early. But WHY with Jenny? (Still bugs me). I loved the fact that Chuck was going to propose but then I remembered how old they are supposed to be and it got weird. It was hilarious earlier this season when they were just having sex a lot. And I think it was a good way to resolve the whole thing, they love each other and that's all fine, but they just need to grow a bit first. If they are meant to be, they will find their way back to each other. Eventually. I don't think it should have been so easy to resolve though. Anyway, I digress. I think it was good how they aren't going to have these too just mooning at each other. That would get old. No complaints here. Yet. Except for why does Chuck have to be just a whore?

Serena and Ben
I just don't care.

Rufus
Also don't care.

Lily
Why does she have to be such a bitch?

Jenny
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Blair
I love Blair. I wish her fashion was a bit more like season 1. She sometimes dresses like she's middle aged. She's supposed to be 20 (I think?). I hope one of her life lessons over the course of the show is to not scheme so much. And for her schemes to get better. She hasn't ruined anyone and is not as much of a bitch as everyone makes out. I think being friends with Dan will probably be good for her.

New People
Don't really care, it's just going to be unnecessary drama that ends with some sort of massive scheme.
